추정과 비추정의 ‘-겠-’의 의미

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this thesis is to study the semantic properties of '-겠-' comparing with that of '-을 것이-' and '-을 것 같-'. For this purpose we divide the usages of these expressions into two, the one which expresses guess and the one which expresses non-guess. And we investigate them from the cognitive and emotional point of view respectively. In case of the usage of guess, '-겠-' expresses the probability of an affair as '-을 것이 -' and '-을 것 같-' do. And the degree of certainty of '-겠-' is lower than '-을 것이-', but higher than '-을 것 같-' slightly. And there is distinction between '-겠-' and '-을 것이-' & '-을 것 같-' in that the former has emotionality and the latters don't. On the other hand, in case of the usage of non-guess, '-겠-' expresses euphemistic way of saying. There are five types of this usage like following: the first type is to express the demand or suggest in euphemistic way as almost of the expressions of uncertainty, the second type is to express the behavior's intention in euphemistic way, the third type is similar to the second type, but is different from that in that the former is grammatized and the latter isn't, the firth type is to express the euphemistic way of saying in the form of '-이 되겠-' and the fifth type is to express emotionality in such predicates that show speaker's/hearer's inner state.
