노인요양시설 노인들의 일반적 특성 및 일상생활수행능력과 사회적 지지가 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 = General Characteristics of Senior Citizens in The Care Facilities and Influence Upon Quality of Life Their Activities of Daily Living and Social Support Affects

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Objectives : This study was conducted to find about the general characteristics of senior citizens in the care facilities and the influence on the quality of life their activities of daily living and social support affects.
Methods : The research subjects were elderly who currently reside in one of the three senior citizens in the care facilities in Daejeon Results- The study showed that there were more female residents and age group of 80-89 consisted of the largest group. As for education, elderly with less than elementary school and 3rd grade in regard to long-term care grading made up the largest. In regard to social support, sons and daughters and their spouses were found to be the largest group and concerning functional support, it was found that “being loved” was the highest. Additionally, pertaining to ADL, ability to eat without assistance came on top. As for what influences the quality of life for elderly, based on the multiple regression analysis, education and decision to enter facility influenced the quality of life and when ADL, social support, and others are added, the higher the structure and functional support the more they affect the quality of life.
Conclusion : Based on the above results, in order to improve interaction among elderly, it is essential to expand the social support and health related program and deployment of programs that can enhance the emotional supports and thus quality of life of elderly are crucial.
