The study focused on finding out how the group art therapy for promoting Individuation influences Maternal Separation Anxiety, Parenting Stress and Differentiation of Self affects mothers who have handicapped children. In order to proceed the research, the study selected mothers whose handicapped children are under treatment at an C Children Center of S city. Also 8 of the selected mothers with handicapped children were categorized to a test group and another 8 of them were sent to a control group. For the test group, the group art therapy for promoting individuation was conducted once a week which made the participants get involved in 10 group therapies in total. Both of the test group and the control group were examined before and after the program. To achieve the goal of the research, the scores of Maternal Separation Anxiety, Parenting Stress and Differentiation of Self were recorded in comparison with scores before the program and scores after the program. The results of the research indicated that the test group showed a more meaningful reduction in Maternal Separation Anxiety Scale and Parenting Stress Scale than the reduction that appeared in the control group. For Differentiation of Self Scale, the test group was ended up with better outcome than the control group, however it is not meaningful statistically. Considering the results gained from the experimentation, the group art therapy for Promoting Individuation was certainly verified to be effective to reduce Maternal Separation Anxiety as well as Parenting Stress on mothers who have handicapped children.
