다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)
This study aims to investigate significances of outdoor play in toddlers by describing and interpreting how young children experience outdoor plays. The research was done in the scene of education in which outdoor plays were actually occurring. The following questions were asked.
First, How do toddlers experience in outdoor plays?
Second, How do toddlers socially interact with each other in their outdoor plays?
This study is based on researches on toddler's cJass in Y day care center in Y city. For this research, participant observations have been taken on outdoor plays of toddlers from March 2002 to February 2003. Toddlers' outdoor plays were observed and teachers were interviewed for one year.
Followings are the results.
First, toddlers feeI pleasure and jOY through outdoor plays.
Second, toddlers acquire sensibile experience through outdoor plays.
Third, toddlers could experience nature, and get an opportunity to become harmonious to through outdoor plays.
Fourth, toddlers have an experience of communication with society they belong to through outdoor plays.
Fifth, toddlers develop more various social relationships through outdoor plays rather than indoor.
