    In geography education, there is a growing concern for spatial thinking, and fostering spatial thinking is emerging as one of major objectives of geography education. Spatial thinking refers to a series of mental activities that encode spatial information of things occupying a particular space, represent and transform the spatial images of the space, infer the spatial relationship and make a decision. The assessment of spatial thinking through geography evaluation makes it possible to measure comprehensive spatial thinking in association with the real-life context of students, to foster their spatial thinking ability and to employ a variety of evaluation methods. The purpose of this study is development of evaluation items for spatial thinking with classroom assessment. For the purpose of this study 14 items were developed for each of the factors of spatial thinking. And then the validity of the developed items and their applicability into classroom assessment has been verified by experts. Also, in order to check the effectiveness of the items as an assessment tool of spatial thinking, the content validity of the items was verified by experts. The findings of the study suggest that geography education could make a contribution to the improvement of spatial thinking which is essential for human survival.
