마리 뷔그만의"순수 무용(absolute dance)"에 나타난 무용동작치료적 요소 = Therapeutic factors of dance movement appearing in Mary Wigman's “absolute Dance”

The first attempts at cultural revival occurred in Germany with private initiative and at the grass roots levels. While the occupation forces helped to re-establish some order and stability after the unconditional capitulation of Germany in 1945. As expressionism appeared as a new art theory in the beginning of the 20th century, main substance of their dance was naturalness, authenticity of individual expression, body recognition, emotional topics such as stress, topics of human conflicts, despair, frustration, social crisis, magic that was ritual dance in the primitive society, religion and spirituality. because of Mary Wigman who was a dancer of expressional modern dance in Germany, a neologism, "absolute dance" was made. It didn't mean that dance must be a perfect one, but meant that dance itself must be perfectly pure. In other words, Mary Wigman believed that not with other equipment, but only pure dance can approach to human being's instinctive expressional desire most sincerely. Such spirit of Wigman was the essence of modern dance movement and centering on America in the 1930s-1940s, it was developed as a type of mental therapy. And this implies that Wigman's absolute dance provides academic basis for the dance movement therapy. Wigman's "absolute dance" and to study how her expressional modern dance has influenced on the dance movement therapy as a field of psychological therapy and thereby to help understanding of movements intended in the dance movement therapy and to supply basic data.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

무용동작치료는 1900년대 초반 현대무용에서 뿌리를 찾을 수 있다. 표현주의 현대무용으로부터 이어받은 유산은 무용동작치료 선구자들에게 각자의 무용치료를 위한 방법론의 기초가 되었다. 표현주의 현대무용은 원시사회의 무용의식과 20세기 표현주의가 표방하는 인간갈등의 주제가 주요핵심이다. 독일의 현대 무용가 마리 뷔그만(Mary Wigman)의 순수 무용(absolute dance)은 표현주의 무용미학의 결과이었으며, 그녀의 춤에 관한 철학은 무용동작을 통해 심리치료적 방법으로 사용하는 무용동작치료에 커다란 영향을 주었다. 그녀의 ‘순수무용’은 춤이 완벽해야 한다는 것을 의미하는 것이 아니라 춤 그 자체로서 온전히 순수해야 함을 의미한다. 다시 말해 마리 뷔그만의 춤은 어떠한 장치에 의해서가 아닌 순수한 무용만이 인간의 본능적 표현 욕구에 가장 진실 되게 접근할 수 있다고 믿는 것이었다. 이러한 뷔그만의 정신은 현대무용 운동의 본질이었고, 1930-40년대 미국을 중심으로 정신치료의 한 형태로 발전되었다. 이것은 뷔그만의 순수무용이 무용동작 치료에서 본질적으로 다루고 있는 인간의 무의식적 움직임에서 내적 태도의 단서를 찾아내고, 그것을 치료하는 과정에서 사용할 수 있다는 근간을 제공한 것이다. 이 연구는 뷔그만의 표현주의에 입각한 순수무용이 심리치료인 무용동작치료에 어떻게 수용되었는지에 대한 이해를 돕고 이에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하는데 있다. 이것은 무용동작치료가 심리치료의 한 분야로서 정확한 인식을 바탕으로 한 올바른 임상 치료적 접근의 활성화를 기대한다.
