In this paper, I investigate the nasalization of Korean /nl/ sequence from an analogical point of view. This paper shows that an interaction between markedness constraintsand Optimal Paradigm(McCarthy 2005) results in the partial paradigm uniformity, the nasalization of/nl/ sequence. The phonological paradigm that is based on phonological similarities plays an important role in choosing optimality output. Nasalized forms and lateralized forms have the same markedness on syllable contact law(Vennemann 1988). On the other hand, the nasalization of /nl/ is superior to the lateralization in the phonological paradigm uniformity. I propose the generalized constraint hierarchy, Markedness≫ParadigmUniformity≫Input-Output Faithfulness, which make /nl/ sequences nasalize and paradigm uniformity effect visible.
