교사 임파워먼트에 관한 연구동향과 전망 및 과제 = A Critical Review on the Research of Teachers' Empowerment : Trends, Prospect, and Task

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 최근의 교사 임파워먼트 연구 동향을 살펴보고, 앞으로의 전망과 과제를 비판적으로 검토한 것이다. 연구 동향의 고찰 관점은 연구 시기와 주제 및 각 연구에서 채택된 주요 변인들, 그리고 연구결과이다. 이 과정에서 외국 연구물을 먼저 살펴보고, 국내 연구를 검토하였다.교사 임파워먼트 연구는 주로 그 개념과 구성요인이 무엇인가를 밝히는 것과, 이에 영향을 주는 요인, 그리고 이에 따른 결과 요인들 간의 관계를 규명하는 데 초점이 맞추어져 있다. 주요 검토 대상들은 학교장 리더십과 교사 임파워먼트의 관계에 관한 연구를 비롯하여 의사결정 참여와 교사 임파워먼트, 교사 헌신과 임파워먼트, 그리고 교사 임파워먼트와 학생의 학업성취도 및 학교문화의 관계에 관한 연구이다. 임파워먼트가 교사 행동 연구의 새로운 관점이자 전략적 목표가 될 수 있지만, 우리나라에서의 연구는 그다지 활발하지 않은 실정이다. 우리나라의 교사 임파워먼트 연구 저변이 외국에 비해 미약하다. 이러한 맥락에서 다음과 같은 사항을 제안하였다.일천한 우리나라의 교사 임파워먼트 연구를 활성화시키기 위한 학회 차원의 노력이 필요하다. 또한 교사 임파워먼트 관련 요인을 설정을 다변화 하여야 할 것이며, 학교 환경요인도 심각하게 고려하여야 할 것이다. 연구 접근도 양적 위주에서 질적 접근을 병행하는 것이 필요하며, 연구 결과의 활용도 적극적으로 검토하여야 할 것이다. 특히 교사 임파워먼트를 위한 프로그램 개발이나 연수 프로그램의 운영이 절실하다.
