정부의 연구개발투자 보조금은 기업의 연구개발투자를 촉진하는가? = Does Government Support Stimulate Business R&D?

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The share of government in the funding of R&D in 2007 was about 26% in Korea, 33.6% in the United States, 37.8% in the United Kingdom, 40.6% in France and 22.6% in Japan. Such an effort may have various effects on the dynamics of private R&D investment. This paper investigates the impact of government subsidy on business R&D expenditure using Survey of Research and Development in Korea over the period 2003~2007. The empirical results on the relationship between government support and business R&D activities show the mixed and even conflict results depending on the level of analysis. Our analysis, however, show that the government support induces more R&D efforts of firms in midium-high-technology or high-technology manufacturing sectors.
