The advent of broad access to the Internet has created a new medium for education and training. It, in particular, boasts for an alternative education form, cyber education, which purports to sweep over current instructional problems and provide a revolutionary educational environments. One thing to be remembered along with the emergence of new educational technology like World Wide Web, however is that divers e innovations throughout the educational history did not last vary long and resulted in bandwagons. In order not to be an another bandwagon in the history of educational technology, the cyber learning needs to be studied not only in abundance but also in depth. This study, in this vein, analyzed how cyber learners adapt to the new leaning environment and what variables are related with the process by assessing retrospectively their perceptions afterwards. The students participating in various courses at 11 universities nation- wide which have been offering cyber education under auspices of the Minis try of Education since 1998 were surveyed initially and the final analysis cons is ted of 177 females and 157 males (n=334). The results indicated three things. First, retrospective post- as sessment of learners ‘perceptions was a viable method for analyzing the adaptation process in cyber learning. Second, cyber students are not learning uniformly so that there exists four dis tincT adaptation styles in cyber learning processs. Third, it was found that any efforts to enhance cyber learning effects need to consider these adaptation styles of students one way or another. These results are expected to be used for drawing useful strategies for implementing more desirable cyber education.
