Development of information technology, shift of paradigm of education, increasing needs for life- long education, all are making us focus on ‘virtual education’ as a promising way for new opportunity and productivity in education. However, the quality of virtual education is still in doubt in comparison with the traditional classroom-education. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the factors that affect the quality and effectiveness of virtual education to let virtual education be a justified educational methodology. The purpose of our paper is to find out the critical success factors of the virtual education. The quality and effectiveness of virtual education should be at least as much as those of classroom education to be successful. We defined effective learning that is the basis of our analysis ; compared the educational strategy of virtual education and classroom education; defined success factors as those that maximize the leverage between the of effective learning and inputcost. We analyzed the results of evaluating survey about virtual class in Dong-A University and proposals of professors who would take virtual classes. The critical success factors we found we found are: sufficient information and telecommunication infra structure, development of excellent contents, interaction between teachers and students, students and students. adequate field selection for virtual education, curriculum design and lecture planning based on students ``needs, constraints on the number of students in a class, technical supporting organization, motivation of teachers and students, continuous and correct evaluation of virtual class and students ``learning, pace control based on individual achievement. We also suggested an integrated model between cost of virtual education, effective learning and critical success factors in terms of leverage mechanics. This model can help us as a framework for further research topics between factors that affect the effectiveness and efficiency of virtual education.
