Most of the previous studies in CMC have addressed the importance of interaction which is the most valuable source to teachers and students. The interaction between the teacher and the student contributes to the accomplishment of student learning and to the quality of teaching. The purpose of this study was to investigate the use of e- mail to increase the interactivity especially. how the interaction between the teacher and the student appears as a teaching supplement. The message content of students was analyzed according to the framework of Henri(1992). The results of this study were followings : ·The participative dimension was 234 messages. ·The main pattern of message was [social- interactive- social], and subsequently [social- interactive- cognitive- interactive]. [interactive- social], and so on. ·The total number of the unit of meaning was 727, in which the social dimension was the largest. The findings indicated that the e- mail is an effective instructional medium to increaseth student learning ability and the quality of teaching, leading to collaborative and problem- solving learning. It was also addressed that the effective us e of e-mail largely depend upon the teacher`` s support and infrastructure system
