노인의 정신건강에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 = 사회자본 특성을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 노인의 정신건강에 영향을 미치는 요인을 신뢰, 집단 내 협력, 정보공유, 지역사회 참여 요인 등의 사회자본 특성과 개인특성, 가족특성, 인적자본 특성 등의 인구사회학적 특성을 통해 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 수도권의 10여개 노인복지관을 거점으로 65세 이상 노인을 대상으로 수거된 272명분의 설문지를 기초로 빈도분석, 기술통계, 평균비교, 회귀분석 등을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 사회자본 특성모형에서는 신뢰, 지역 사회 내 협력, 정보공유, 지역사회 참여 수준 등 네 가지 변수 모두가 노인의 정신건강에 통계학적으로 유의한 수준에서 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 사회자본 특성과 인구사회학적 특성을 동시에 고려한 회귀분석에 있어서는 신뢰, 배우자와의 동거여부, 주관적인 건강상태만이 여전히 노인의 정신건강에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로, 본 연구에서는 노인의 정신건강 향상을 위한 사회자본 확충 방안에 대해 논의를 진행하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to explore the factors that affect the elderly's mental health. Especially, it attempted to explore how the social capital characteristics of the elderly and affect their mental health. Data on the 272 elderly who were at the age of 65 or over and lived in the Seoul metropolitan areas were analyzed for this purpose. The level of mental health was measured by the GDSSF-K(Generic Depression Scale Short Form-Korea Version) and the social capital was measured by trust, partnership in community, information sharing, and participation in community. Also, personal, familial, and human capital traits were measured as socioeconomic natures of the respondents. This study conducted descriptive statistics analyses and multiple regression analyses to explore the determinants of mental health of the elderly. Although the level of mental health for the elderly was varied significantly according to their diverse socioeconomic as welalys social capital natures, only trust, level of education, subjective health condition were statistically significant predictors to the level of mental health for the elderly in the total model. The result of this study shows us that elderly who experienced more trust and who were highly educated and who lived with their spouses, and who felt healthier subjectively enjoyed better mental health than their counterparts. Therefore, more policy and program considerations should be needed for elderly to strengthen their social capital in order to enhance their levels of mental health.
