세계화, 젠더 그리고 지구적 전략 = Globalization, Gender and Global Strategies

국문 초록 (Abstract)

세계화의 해석에서 이론적 헤게모니를 주장하는 신자유주의는 세계화 과정을 성, 계급 및 인종이라는 카테고리와 무관하게 전개되는 중립적인 과정으로 바라본다. 이러한 ‘젠더관계의 탈주제화’라는 상황에서, 세계화가 ‘젠더에 따라 특수하게 구조화된 과정’임을 드러내기 위한 페미니즘적 분석들이 활발하게 전개되고 있다. 이런 맥락에서 본 논문은 먼저 경제의 세계화에 초점을 맞추어, 이를 생산경제 혹은 생산노동의 세계화 및 재생산경제 혹은 재생산노동의 세계화로 나누어 접근함으로써 세계화가 여성의 삶에 미치는 영향을 살펴본다. 다음으로는 이러한 경제의 세계화가 복지국가에 미치는 영향에 주목함으로써 생계노동은 남성의 일, 가사노동은 여성의 일이라는 ‘성 특수적 노동 분업’이 변화되는 과정을 살펴본다. 마지막으로는 위기이자 기회로서의 양면성을 가진 세계화 속에서 민족국가의 한계를 넘어서기 위한 새로운 페미니즘의 전략을 간단히 스케치한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Neoliberalism assumes a hegemonic position regarding the theoretical explanation of globalization. It describes globalization as a neutral process which has no relation to categories of gender, class and race. In this situation of ‘dethematization of gender relationship’, feminist analyses which emphasize that globalization is a ‘process specifically structured according to gender’ are lively developing. In this context this study firstly examines how globalization influences the lives of women, mainly focusing on the two major aspects of economic globalization, that is, globalization of productive economy or productive work, and of reproductive economy or reproductive work. Secondly, it examines effects of globalization on welfare state and analyses the related changes in a ‘gender-specific division of labour’. Lastly, it draws a brief sketch of new feminist strategies which attempt to get over the limits of a nation-state.
