성공적 노화 인식에 관한 성별 비교 연구 = A Comparative Study on the Perception of the Successful Aging between Women and Men

국문 초록 (Abstract)

노인인구의 증가와 함께 노화를 부정적인 시각에서 보는 관점에서 벗어나 긍정적인 측면을 강조하는 성공적 노화에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 성공적 노화에 관하여 성별에 따른 인식차이를 비교해보고, 이에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보는데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 도시에 거주하는 만 20세 이상의 성인남녀 총 505명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 조사결과를 살펴보면, 첫째, 전체적인 성공적 노화 인식은 여성과 남성 간에 유의미한 차이가 없었지만, 하위요인에서 남성이 여성보다 부부간의 동반자적인 삶이 성공적 노화에 중요하다고 보았다. 둘째, 여성인 경우 학력, 주관적 경제수준, 자아존중감이 성공적 노화 인식에 유의미한 영향 변수로 나타났다. 셋째, 남성인 경우 자아존중감이 성공적 노화 인식에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 결론으로 연구의 함의, 제한점, 추후 연구 방향 등을 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purposes of the study were to compare the perception of successful aging between women and men, and to find factors influencing successful aging perspectives. The respondents were 505 people residing in the city. The data were analyzed by statistical methods as frequency, chi-square test, t-test, anova test, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows. First, the mean score of successful aging was not different between women and men. But couple life like companion was very important in successful aging among the males. Second, education, economic living conditions, and self-esteem were significantly associated with the perception of successful aging among the females. Third, self-esteem was significant predictor for the perception of successful aging among the males. Implications of the findings were discussed and the recommendations for the policy were presented.
