국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 국제결혼 후 농촌지역에서 생활하는 이주여성의 ‘지역사회 주민으로 참여하기’ 과정을 이해하고자 하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 본 연구에서는 국제결혼 후 한국에서 생활한지 5년 이상 된 13명의 결혼이주여성을 대상으로 심층면접을 통한 자료수집과 질적 연구접근으로 분석하였다.
분석결과, 주제는 ‘낯선 지역에 들어서기’, ‘삶의 개척자로 살아가기’, ‘마을주민으로 참여하기’로 나타났다. ‘낯선 지역에 들어서기’는 ‘기대와 모험’, ‘각본과 다른 무대’, ‘겹겹이 힘듦’으로 구성되었다. ‘삶의 개척자로 살아가기’는 ‘지금 여기에 맞게 살아가기’, ‘경험이란 돌파구’로 구성되었다. ‘마을주민으로 참여하기’는 ‘교류’, ‘자신의 자원을 활용’, ‘동행할 사람이 많아짐’, ‘미래를 향해 감’으로 구성되었다. 분석결과에 나타난 3가지 주제를 중심으로 농촌지역 결혼이주여성의 ‘지역사회 주민으로 참여하기’를 지원하기 위한 방안을 제언하였다.

The objective of this study was to understand the process of rural immigrant women’s participation as a community resident after their international marriage. For this purpose, we collected data through in depth interviews with 13 married immigrant women who had lived more than 5 years since they settled in Korea through international marriage, and analyzed the data through qualitative approaches.
From the results of this study, we found three themes ‘entering a strange area’, ‘living as a pioneer of life’ and ‘participating as a community resident’. The theme ‘entering a strange area’ consisted of ‘expectation and adventure’, ‘a stage different from the scenario’ and ‘difficulties on difficulties". The theme ‘living as a pioneer of life’ consisted of ‘adjustment to new lifestyle’, ‘experiences as breakthrough’. The theme ‘participating as a community resident’ consisted of ‘exchange’, ‘utilization available resources’, ‘increase in the number of companions’ and ‘moving toward the future’. Focused on the three themes, this study suggested plans to support rural married immigrant women’s participation as a community resident.
