The purpose of this study is to suggest a new method of improving the evaluation of vocabulary education. Vocabulary competence is a basic component of language competence, but many theses on vocabulary education do not thoroughly discuss methods of assessment or do not discuss it at all. There are two fundamental problems with the current methods of evaluating vocabulary comprehension. First, there is a contents problem. Vocabulary competence can't be evaluated with Knowledge testing alone. Second, there is a methods problem. Teachers think that evaluating vocabulary competence is necessity, but they don't know the many methods of vocabulary testing.
This paper suggests detailed methods for improving the evaluation of vocabulary education. For the further development of the evaluation of vocabulary education there need to be drastic changes in three distinct
areas. First, the evaluative perspective must change into a more cognitive perspective. Second, there must be a systematic evaluation of the contents of vocabulary education. And third, the methods of context evaluation must be overhauled.
