우리나라의 영재의 개인 및 가정 환경적 배경 변인 연구 = Personal and Environmental Variables of the Gifted in Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to find the personal and environmental background variables that influence to the gifted. Highly gifted student samples were selected from the high schools for the excellent achievements by school's recommendation and committee of the gifted. Selected students' characteristic variables from the infant to the high school periods were collected. Normal students group and three groups of gifted students were compared, and three groups of gifted students were gifted students in literature, science and art. The results showed that normal students group and the gifted students group have differences in many variables while three sub-groups of the gifted students have differences only in a few variables. This study was examined for the empirical study of the gifted especially, have an excellent achievements socially, in Korea. This study was meaningful and suggested the future study for the gifted.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 학문적으로 탁월한 성취를 인정받은 영재들에 대하여 유아기부터 고등학교 시절에 이르기까지 현재의 영재성을 발현하는데 영향을 미친 개인적·가정 환경적 배경변인을 탐색하는데 있다. 배경 변인의 탐색을 위해 영재와 평재집단의 본인 및 부모에게 설문조사 및 면담을 실시하였으며, 이들의 초~고등학교까지의 학생생활기록부를 획득하였다. 이러한 조사결과에 대해 영재집단과 평재집단을 비교하였으며, 영재집단내에서도 문과, 이과, 예능의 3개 영역으로 구분하여 집단 간의 차이와 판별분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 개인 및 가정 환경적 배경 변인으로는 우수한 지능, 건강한 신체, 고학력·고소득·전문직종의 부모님, 특별한 재능을 알게 된 시기와 이러한 재능을 육성하기 위한 교육방법, 부모의 양육태도, 부모와의 대화, 부모의 교육가치관, 가족 내에 자신의 전공과 관련된 전공자의 존재, 외조부모의 역할, 혼자 있는 시간과 한 일, 장래에 희망하였던 교육수준 및 직업 등의 변인에 있어서 평재집단과 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 특히, 영재와 평재를 판별하는 유용한 변인으로는 지능 > 타인의 인정정도 >가족 중 전공자 > 본인이 희망교육수준 > 부모의 희망교육수준의 순이었다. 본 연구는 학문적으로 성취수준이 탁월한 성인 영재에 대한 실증연구라는 점에서 의의가 있는 기초연구로서, 차후 우리나라 영재연구에 시사하는 바가 크다고 하겠다.
