과정 중심 쓰기 교육에 대한 비판적 고찰 = Critical Reviewing on Process Approach to Teaching Writing

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigates how Process Approach is accommodated and applied to teaching writing; thereafter, it puts forward feasible proposals for alternative methods of and contents applicable to teaching writing. Beginning with close examinations of curricula and textbooks, the paper tries to locate whereabouts that the controversial issues we have concerning the practice of teaching writing have arisen from. Then, it makes roposals in order to foster both thinking and communicating skills at a time. Teaching writing should employ more tasks for creative construction of meaning at the stage of generating contents. And the curriculum of writing classes should be designed so that the learners can acquire the distinctive qualities and styles of texts. It also requires that reading for writing, reading for the information as to writing topics, reading to learn the characteristics and the customs of texts, and authors` self-reading for reviewing and monitoring be actively brought into writing classes; moreover, teaching writing should be reinforced with an intensive instruction of vocabulary and function words.
