중복장애아 어머니의 가족스트레스에 관한 연구 = A Study on Family Stress of Mothers with Multiple Handicapped Children

The purpose of this study is to investigate variables and crucial factors associated with family stress. Subjects are from 182 mothers with the multiple handicapped children attending special schools Seoul, Pusan, Taegu, Taejon, Kwangju, Inchon, Sunchon, Chonju, Chongju. The questionnare consisted of the items to measure mothers' family stress, and to examine socio-psychological variables. Data were analyzed by correlation analysis and regression analysis.
The conclusions of this were as follows : First, family stress of mothers with multiple handicapped children consisted of five factors, that is, marital problem, troubles with child and relatives, economic difficulty, household affairs, disease problem. The level of family stress of mothers with multiple handicapped children is low.
Second, family stress revealed negative correlation with satisfactions of family life.
Third, the higher degree of family stress which is caused by marital problem revealed the shorter marriage period, the lower level of satisfactions with the academic background, family life. The lower degree of family stress which result from troubles with child and relatives associated with the smaller in number of children and the higher satisfactions with the academic background and health. The higher level of family stress which come from economic difficulty related to the smaller in number of disorders and the higher satisfactions with an income. The higher degree of family stress which arise from household affairs correlated with the higher satisfactions with the academic background of husband and the lower satisfactions with the family life. The lower level of family stress which is due to disease problem correlated with the higher satisfactions with the family life and health.
