대학의 다문화이해 강좌 인식 연구 = An Empirical Research on Consciousness of Chair "Understanding Multiculture" at the University

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 대학에서의 다문화이해 강좌의 효과를 탐구하는 것이다. 오늘날 한국사회의 중요한 과제는 사회통합이다. 남북한이 이념문제가 국내에서 계속되고 있는 와중 국제결혼 등으로 인해 다문화의 새로운 패턴이 유입됨으로 인해 사회통합의 과제는 더욱 복잡하게 되었다. 이러한 문제를 공교육에서 해소하기 위해 초등교육 교사를 양성하는 교육대학에서부터 이제 중등교육 교사를 양성하는 사범대학에 이르기까지 다루어지게 되었다. 대학에서는 교육과정을 운영할 수 있는 자율성이 부여되어 있는데, 다문화이해 강좌는 방대한 주제로 인해 특정 학과, 특정 교수가 개설할 수 있는 여건이 안된다. 이에 교육과학기술부는 전국국립대학교에 프로젝트 형태로 강좌운영을 지원하게 되었다. 하지만 대학 자체가 스스로의 강좌의 효과성을 분석하는 노력이 부족하다는 점이 있어, 본 연구는 새롭게 시작되는 강좌의 지속가능성을 보장하기 위해 피교육자의 인식을 살펴보게 되었다. 조사결과 몇 가지 의미있는 결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 다문화에 대한 성별 관심도에 있어서, 남성보다는 여성의 관심이 높다는 점이다. 둘째, 다문화교육에 대한 인식면에 있어서 대학의 다문화교육에 대한 만족도가 한 학기 수업을 통해 긍정적인 변화를 초래했다. 셋째, 다문화교육이 한국문화의 정체성을 함양하는데 큰 방해가 되지 않는다는 지적을 했다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The research investigates the consciousness of the Chair ``Understanding Multiculure`` at an university. Today, the Korean society needs social unification. The new pattern of multiculture was flowed in due to the international marriage, and etc. In the middle of lasting ideological conflict between North and South Korea, the subject of the social unification was more complicated. To solve this problem, Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (MEST) has started to support high level educational institution, according to relating law and regulations gradually. To university, the automatism is given to deal with opening and maintain the curriculum. Because the level and width of this issues are very high and broad, very limited departments and professors could not open the class. With riding this trend, MEST has decided to support the national university with high priority and project style. However there was not insufficient in which the university itself analyzes the consciousness of a chair for oneself. This research analyzed some opinions of students in order to guarantee the sustainability of the class. The result of this research showed some implications as follows: Firstly, there was some differences between Men and Women. The concern of a female was higher than the male. Secondly, even the research period lasted only one semester, the satisfaction of students on Multicultre was changed to very positive direction. Thirdly, Multiculture education did not disturb the identity of Korean traditional culture.
