간호사의 계속교육 참여 동기에 관한 연구 = Nurses' Reasons for Participation in Continuing Nursing Education

The purpose of this study was to identify nurses' reasons for participation in continuing nursing education(CNE) in Korea and analyze the effect of the types of CNE on them. The survey instrument was Participation Reasons Scale(PRS) used with permission to assess nurses' reasons for participation in CNE. The conclusions were followings. First, factor analysis of responses to the PRS indicated that the following four factors underlie the nurses' reasons for participation in CNE: ‘Professional Development’, ‘Service to Patients’, ‘Collegial Interaction and Professional Commitment’, and ‘Job Security and Personal Benefits’. The most important factor was Professional Development. Second, significant differences were found in all types of CNE, based on reasons for participation. Third, it was confirmed that reasons for participation in CNE were different as nurses' age and years in the nursing profession.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 간호사의 계속교육 참여 동기를 파악하고 참여 동기에 따른 교육 유형과 개인적 특성별 비교를 통해 간호사 계속교육 촉진에 시사점을 제시하고자 계속교육에 참여한 간호사를 대상으로 한 실증연구이다. 자료 수집은 참여 동기 척도(PRS)를 사용한 설문조사 방법을 활용하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 요인 분석을 통해 '전문역량 유지 및 개발', '환자에 대한 서비스', '상호교류 및 전문가의 책임', '직업안정과 개인의 이익' 등 네 개의 동기가 밝혀졌고, 그 중 '전문역량 유지 및 개발' 동기가 가장 중요한 동기로 나타났다. 둘째, 참여 동기에 따라 교육 유형 집단별 차이가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 전반적으로 보수교육보다 직무전문 과정과 대학원 과정의 동기가 상대적으로 높았다. 셋째, 참여 동기에 따라 개인적 특성인 연령, 경력, 근무형태의 차이가 나타났다.
