대학총장 비서직 직무와 핵심작업에 관한 연구 = The Job Content and Key Tasks of the Educational Secretary to the College President

국문 초록 (Abstract)

오늘날 대학의 규모가 커지고 조직이 복잡해짐에 따라 대학경영과 행정에 있어서 개혁과 변화가 요구되고 있다. 대학총장은 대학의 리더로서 대학경영을 책임지며 동시에 대학발전의 견인차 역할을 수행해야 하는 중요한 역할을 감당한다. 그리고 총장비서는 총장이 이러한 역할들을 효과적으로 수행할 수 있도록 측근에서 보좌하는 조력자이며 그 역할 또한 더욱 중요해지고 있다.
이 연구의 목적은 대학총장을 보좌하는 총장 비서의 직무와 이 직무를 수행하기 위해 필요한 태도, 지식, 기술, 능력을 파악하고 핵심작업을 도출하는 데 있다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 먼저 비서직무에 관한 문헌연구와 심층면접을 하였으며 총장비서들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 비서직무를 총 11개의 과업과 85개의 작업으로 도출하였다.
이를 바탕으로 대학총장 비서의 업무 중 중요도, 빈도, 난이도가 공통적으로 평균값 이상을 나타내는 작업을 핵심작업으로 정의하고 12개의 핵심작업을 선정하였다. 난이도가 높은 직무는 주로 민원관리에 관한 작업들이었는데 이 과업은 다른 분야의 전문 비서들의 직무와 차별화되는 부분이기도 한 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구는 대학총장 비서 직무를 심층적으로 파악한 최초의 연구라는 데 의의가 있으며 연구 결과는 대학총장 비서의 재교육 뿐만 아니라 교육기관 비서가 되고자 하는 예비 비서들의 직무교육 내용 개발을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

With the advent of the information age and the rapid pace of globalization, rapid changes have occurred and competition is heightening. In this era, the university's role of educating future leaders and building knowledge to bring about change is significant. As universities grow larger in size and more complicated in their structure, reform and change in the operation and management of a university are very important. In a university, the individual in charge of overall management and the driving force behind development is the president. The individual who supports the president so that he or she can perform the job effectively is the educational secretary.
The purpose of this study is to identify the job content and key tasks of an educational secretary who is working at the office of the university president. In order to achieve the research goal, a review of the literature including an Internet search was performed and in-depth interviews and the survey research method were used. Eleven duties and 85 tasks were identified as the educational secretary's job content and 12 tasks were identified as key tasks. By asking open-ended questions regarding the educational secretary's job, the competencies (attitude, knowledge, skills, and abilities) required for the college president's secretary were identified.
This research is meaningful in the sense that it is the first study to investigate the job of an educational secretary to the college president. The results of this study can be used as basic data to develop programs for the on-the-job training of a college president's secretary.
