도덕적 인격의 핵심 구인들의 도덕적 기능에 대한 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

지속적이고 안정적인 도덕적 행위를 이끄는 인간의 내적인 성격적 특성들이 있는가? 있다면 무엇인가? 또는 무엇이 우리로 하여금 지속적인 도덕적 행위를 하도록 촉구하는가? 지금까지 이러한 물음에 답하기 위해 많은 학자들이 다양한 분야에서 연구를 해왔다. 최근 이러한 물음과 관련된 연구들은 1980년대 블라시의 연구를 시작으로 도덕적 정체성과 인격의 성격적 특성을 밝히는 데 주목하고 있다. 블라시의 연구와 다른 연구들을 바탕으로, 연구자는 도덕적 인격의 핵심 구인이 될 수 있는 것으로 세 가지, 즉 도덕적 이해, 도덕적 욕구로서의 의지, 자기 통합성을 제안한다. 연구자는 이 세 가지 구인들의 개념적 특징, 형성․발달의 메커니즘, 그리고 도덕적 기능에 대해 논한다. 진정한 도덕적 이해는 도덕적 상황, 상황과 관련된 도덕적 규범, 자신의 행동이 선에 근거하고 그 결과가 선한가에 대한 이해를 포함한다. 일관되고 지속적인 도덕적 행위는 도덕적 이해를 기초로 하며 선에 대한 열망적인 욕구를 중심으로 구성된 의지력이 요구된다. 그러한 의지력은 도덕성과 자아를 통합으로 이끌어 도덕성과 자기 자신에 대한 책임감을 보증하는 도덕적 정체성을 형성하게 한다. 높은 자기 통합성은 우리에게 규범 명료성, 개인적 책무감, 개인적 통제력을 강화시켜서 결국 우리의 삶이 도덕적 삶으로 나아가게 한다. 연구자는 본 연구가 도덕적 인격의 기초와 내용에 대한 이해뿐만 아니라 도덕교육을 위한 방법론적 전략의 구성에 도움이 될 것으로 생각한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Are there internal traits of a person's personality that can lead to steadfast moral behavior? If there are, what are they? Or, what do we encourage in consistent with moral principles? Until now, many scholars tried to answer these questions in a variety of areas to related morality and offered different answers in each position. Recently, the studies related to these questions in the area of moral psychology have been the focus of much studies, beginning with August Blasi's research in the 1980s, on the fundamental characteristics of person's personality to develop moral identity or moral character. Based on Blasi's research and other researches, I suggest that there are the three core constructs for building moral character: moral understanding, will as a moral desire, and self-integrity. And then, I will discuss the characteristics of the concepts and the mechanisms for formation and development, and particularly the moral functioning of the three core constructs. A true moral understanding may involve understanding and grasping moral situations, including moral standards in relation to situations. And this includes that one understands whether one's behavior and its outcomes be based on good. The moral behavior based on such moral understanding can be said to be consistent and continuous. That is, the consistent and continuous moral behavior demands the will power formed around the desire aspiring good. This will power can lead the integrity between morality and self, and develop moral identity that guarantees the responsibility and accountability for morality and oneself. Higher self-integrity may reinforce us clarity of standards, individual accountability, and self-regulation, and that can make our lives to be moral. I believe that this study will help understand the foundation and contents of moral character as well as design the strategies and programs for moral education.
