기혼여성의 경력패턴 유형 연구 = A Study on Types of Career Patterns of Married Women in Korea

The purpose of this study was to identify and describe life career pattern and occupational career pattern of married women in Korea. Especially, this study (1) identified types of life career patterns and occupational career patterns, (2) described characteristics of each type of patterns, (3) examined the relationship between types of life career patterns and occupational career patterns, (4) examined the relationship between types of life & occupational career patterns and related variables.
Results of this study were as follows: First, life career patterns of married women clustered 9 types : work oriented types(①full timer type, ②career transition type, ③career development type), work-family parallel types(④early family builder type, ⑤delayed family builder type, ⑥reentry for living typed, ⑦intermittent career exist type), family oriented types(⑧career exist after married type, ⑨traditional homemaking type). Second, occupational career patterns of married women clustered 11 types : upward mobility types(①entrepreneur type, ②professional type, ③associate professional upward type), stable types(④associate professional stable type, ⑤manufacturer type, ⑥clerical worker type), transition types(⑦associate professional transition type, ⑧entrepreneur transition type, ⑨drifter type), downward mobility type(downward after parental leave, pre-dominantly non-employed type). Third, life career pattern types and occupational career pattern types have significant relationships. Among the 99 combination of each career pattern type, there is 21 combinations which have positive relationships, and 21 combinations which have negative relationships. Also, there is different relationships between age cohort. Fourth, types of life career patterns and occupational career patterns were effected by structural variables(educational level, life cycle, parents' social economics status, husband's social economics status, children raising support service level) and process variables(career commitment, work-family balance, role orientation(work)).

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 우리나라 기혼여성의 경력패턴 유형을 구명하고, 경력패턴 유형과 관련 변인들과의 관계를 구명하기 위해 수행되었다. 구체적으로는 우리나라 기혼여성의 생애 경력패턴 및 직업 경력패턴 유형을 구명하고, 생애 경력패턴 유형과 직업 경력패턴 유형과의 상호관계를 구명하며, 생애 경력패턴 유형 및 직업 경력패턴 유형과 관련 변인과의 관계를 구명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경력패턴을 가장 집중적이고 안정적으로 관찰할 수 있는 35~49세의 기혼자 가운데 학령기 자녀를 두고 있는 여성을 목표 모집단으로 설정하여 자료를 수집하였으며, 이 가운데 519명의 응답을 분석에 활용하였다. 수집된 자료는 각각의 연구목표에 따라 최적일치법(optimal matching), 군집분석(cluster analysis), Fisher four-field hypergeometric analysis, 다항로짓분석(multinominal logit analysis), 중다변량분석(MANOVA)을 활용하여 분석하였다.
이 연구를 통해 다음과 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 우리나라 기혼여성의 생애 경력패턴은 직업과 가족에 몰입하는 정도에 따라 직업중심형, 직업-가족병행형 및 가족중심형으로 구분되며 총 9개의 세부 유형이 존재한다. 둘째, 우리나라 기혼여성의 직업 경력패턴은 직업영역과 직위수준의 이동 정도와 방향에 따라 상향이동형, 정체형, 전환형, 하향이동형으로 구분되며, 총 11개의 세부 유형이 존재한다. 셋째, 우리나라 기혼여성의 생애 경력패턴과 직업 경력패턴은 유의미한 상호관계를 갖는 것으로 나타났으며, 전체 99가지 조합 가운데 21개 조합이 정적인 상관관계를, 21개 조합이 부적인 상관관계를 갖고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 우리나라 기혼여성의 생애 경력패턴 유형 및 직업 경력패턴 유형과 구조적 변인 및 과정적 변인과의 유의미한 영향관계를 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 이 연구의 결과를 기초로 연구의 대상, 연구의 방법 및 연구의 활용 측면에서 몇몇 제언사항을 제시하였다.
