한국형 부모-자녀관계와 청소년의 학교생활 적응의 관계 = Relations between Korean Parent-child Relationships and School Adjustment

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 비교 문화적 관점에서 개발된 한국형 부모-자녀 관계척도를 이용하여 청소년들의 학교적응에 효과적인 부모자녀관계 요인을 파악하고자 시도되었다. 본 연구에 사용된 한국형 부모자녀 관계 척도는 친밀, 헌신, 존경, 엄격의 4요인으로 구성되었다. 본 연구의 대상은 259명의 중학교에 재학 중인 청소년들로 남자 130명, 여자 129명이었으며, 중부지역의 중소도시와 읍면지역에서 표집 되었다. 부모자녀 관계와 청소년의 학교적응의 관계를 검증하기 위하여 Pearson r의 적률상관계수가 산출되고 일련의 중다회귀분석이 실시되었다. 청소년의 학교적응에 효과적인 부모자녀관계 요인으로는 친밀과 존경요인이 추출되었는데, 청소년들은 부모와 친밀하고 존경심이 개입된 관계를 형성 할수록 학교적응이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 부와 모별로 구분하여 청소년의 학교적응에 효과적인 부모자녀관계요인을 분석한 결과 부와의 관계에서는 존경요인이 모와의 관계에서는 친밀과 존경요인이 효과적인 것으로 밝혀졌다. 즉, 부-자녀 관계에서 존경심이 높게 개입 될수록 청소년의 학교적응도가 높았고, 모-자녀 관계의 경우에는 친밀감과 존경심이 높을수록 청소년의 학교적응도가 높았다. 이 모든 연구결과들이 바람직한 부모의 자녀양육태도와 부모교육프로그램의 개발에 시사하는 바가 논의되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the study was to examine relations between Korean parent- child relationships and school adjustment, using the Korean parent-child relationship scale from a comparative cultural point of view. The scale consists of four factors including intimacy, devotion, admiration and sternness of parent- child relationships. Pearson's biserial correlation and multiple regression analysis were used to test the effects of Korean parent-child relationship styles on the child's school adjustment. The significantly effective parent-child relationship styles for school adjustment were those characterized by high levels of intimacy and admiration. These findings showed that parent-child relationships that reflected higher levels of intimacy and admiration were associated with higher levels of child's school adjustment. The significantly effective father-child relationship for school adjustment was characterized only by the factor of admiration, while both intimacy and admiration factored into the mother-child relationship. These findings showed that father-child relationships that reflected greater admiration were associated with higher levels of a child's school adjustment, as were mother-child relationships reflecting higher levels of intimacy and admiration. All these findings were discussed to identify desirable parents' child rearing attitudes and educational programs for parents.
