진화경제학의 유토피아로서 “에브토피아” = ‘An Evtopia’ as the Utopia of the Evolutionary Economics

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 세계화와 지식기반경제라는 자본주의의 질적 변화를 맞이하여 정치경제학이 진보에 관한 담론을 새로운 차원에서 지속시켜야 한다는 점을 촉구하기 위해 서술되었다. 이 주장의 정당성을 확보하기 위해 신고전학파경제학은 물론 마르크스경제학에 내재해 있는 목적론적 사고를 비판한다. 이런 목적론에 대한 대안적 전략으로 이 논문은 베블런에 뿌리를 내린 후, 최근 들어 많은 발전을 이루어내고 있는 진화경제학적 방법론을 제시한다. 그것은 다원론, 상호작용주의, 본능적이며 문화적 행위자, 독특한 지식이론을 바탕으로 목적론을 부정한다. 그것은 새로운 변화에 대해 열린 자세
로 진보를 고민한다. 그러한 방법론은 ‘에브토피아’를 가능하게 한다. 에브토피아는 ‘민주적 프래그머티즘’을 최소한의 규범으로 제시하고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper demands that in the face of qualitative changes in the contemporary capitalism Political Economists hold a progressive discourse on the new direction continuously. It criticizes the teleological view inherent in the Marxism as well as in the Neoclassical Economics. The paper suggests the Evolutionary Economics as an alternative methodology which currently develops much and is embedded in the works of Th. Veblen. It denies the teleology, based on the pluralism, the interactionism, the instinctive and cultural actor. Maintaining the open mind, it searches for a methodology to progressivism. That methodology opens the door to ‘Evtopia’. It suggests the ‘democratic pragmatism’ as the minimum political norm, which considers the qualitative change in the contemporary capitalism, while not neglecting the traditional value in the progressivism. This norm is
sharply different form the ‘middle instrumentalism’ of the Lee-government which is trapped into ethical relativism.
