심리학의 관점에서 본 욕망과 행복의 관계

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 최근에 심리학계에서 주목받고 있는 행복에 관한 연구 분야인 긍정 심리학을 간략히 소개하고 행복과 욕망의 관계에 초점을 맞추어 논의하였다. 주관적 안녕으로서의 행복을 설명하는 가장 기초적 이론인 욕망충족 이론에 근거하여 욕망의 생성에서부터 행복감의 체험에 이르는 심리적 과정을 이해하는 통합적인 이론적 틀을 제시하고자 하였다. 행복은 평정상태의 균열로 인해 생겨난 결핍감을 해소하려는 욕망충족 과정에서 경험하는 긍정적 정서와 인지적 평가의 복합적 산물이라고 할 수 있다. 행복의 심리적 과정을 이해하기 위해서는 욕망의 구조뿐만 아니라 개인의 가치관, 목표와 기대, 목표로의 진전 평가, 비교과정, 적응과정 등과 같은 다양한 심리적 요인의 역할이 고려되어야 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article briefly introduces contemporary approaches to happiness as formulated by positive psychologists and discusses the relationship between desire and happiness from a psychological viewpoint. Based on the desire-fulfillment theory of happiness, an integrative theoretical model explaining the psychological processes from desire to happiness is proposed. This model suggests that happiness is a complex psychological experiences comprised of positive emotions and cognitive evaluations that result from desire-fulfilling processes. Several psychological factors including individual values, goals and expectations, evaluations of progress toward goals, comparison processes and adaptation processes are considered in this model.
