      This study was intended to examine differences of young children`s social health according to their maternal parental intelligence and fostering attitudes. The subjects of this research were 280 children aged 3 to 5 and their mothers in four preschools and child-care centers located in K city, Gyeonggi-Do. For this study, scales of children`s self-control and social-friendly behavior, mothers` parental intelligence and fostering attitude were used. The major results of this study are as follows. First, young children`s social-friendly behaviors had significant differences according to their maternal parental intelligence. High maternal parental intelligence was associated with young children`s high social-friendly behaviors. Second, young children`s self-control and social-friendly behaviors had significant differences according to their mothers` fostering attitudes. Mothers` high fostering attitudes was associated with children`s high self-control and social-friendly behaviors. The results of this study will contribute to the expansion of academic understanding on developmental conditions which can support children`s desirable growth.
