대학생의 학업성취와 중도탈락 생각에 영향을 미치는 변인 분석 = Predictors of Academic Achievement and Dropout Thinking among University Students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 대학생들의 학업성취와 중도탈락 생각에 관련이 있는 잠재적 예측 변인들의 관계를 알아보고, 이들 중 학업성취와 중도탈락 생각에 유의한 영향을 주는 변인이 무엇인지, 그리고 중도탈락 생각의 주된 이유가 무엇인지를 밝혀 보려는데 목적이 있다. 분석대상은 강원도 K대학교에 재학중인 대학생 830명(남학생: 361명, 여학생: 469명)이었다. 본 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생들의 학업성취는 성별, 유능감, 대학수학능력시험 성적, 전공 만족도 및 대학생활 만족도, 고등학교 내신 성적과 유의한 정적 상관을 보였고, 흡연 및 음주정도와는 유의한 부적 상관을 보였다. 그리고 대학생들의 중도탈락 생각은 대학생활 만족도 및 전공 만족도, SF-36 정신건강 및 신체건강, 유능감, 대학수학능력시험 성적 및 사회적 지지와 모두 유의한 부적 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 대학생들의 학업성취를 유의하게 예측하는 변인들로 유능감, 성별, 대학수학능력시험 성적, 음주정도가 도출되었고, 이들은 학업성취 총 변량의 25.3%를 설명하고 있다. 특히 음주정도는 학업성취를 예측하는데 부정적인 영향을 주었다. 셋째, 대학생들의 중도탈락 생각을 유의하게 예측하는 변인들로 대학생활 만족도, SF-36 정신건강, 유능감, 전공만족도, 대학수학능력시험 성적이 도출되었고, 이들은 중도탈락 생각 총 변량의 23.0%를 설명하고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine potential predictors of academic achievement and dropout thinking among K National University students in Kangwon Province. The subjects were 830 university students(male=361, female=469) in this study. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, academic achievement of the university students had significantly positive relationships with gender, self competence. scholastic aptitude test scores, major satisfaction, college life satisfaction, and high school academic records, but it had significantly negative relationships with smoking and drinking. Second, dropout thinking of the university students had significantly negative relationships with college life satisfaction, major satisfaction, SF-36 physical health, SF-36 mental health, self competence, scholastic aptitude test scores, and social support. Third, a multiple linear regression equation predicting cumulative GPA using 12 predictors accounted for 25.3% of variance in academic achievement of the university students. Fourth, a multiple linear regression equation predicting cumulative GPA using 12 predictors accounted for 23.0% of variance in dropout thinking of the university students. Finally, several reasons for dropout thinking of the university students were ascertained.
