    Cultural teaching is one of the main goals of the 7th English Educational Curriculum. The purpose of this study was to examine the realization of that goal through the analysis of Teacher’s Guide 3-6, and suggest the better ways of teaching culture. For the analysis, ‘a standard cultural content for teaching English’ was suggested. The results of the analysis were, (1) The cultual contents presented in Teacher’s Guide were not systematic. Some cultural topics were repetitively presented. Some essential components were missing. (2) Most of the cultual contents were not consistent to the communicative function of the lesson. Based on the results, the followings were suggested: (1) Cultural teaching contents need to be introduced with a relation to the communicative function of the lesson more systematically and consistently. (2) Cultural teaching activities as well as contents need to be provided as on-going class activities, not as something extra given at the end of the lesson.
