사회자본과 커뮤니케이션 품질 = Social Capital and Qualities of Communication

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글에서 우리는 사회자본 개념이 복잡하게 전개되는 이유가 사회자본의 형성원, 연결망, 그리고 효과 등의 세 요소가 포괄적으로 논의되기 때문이라 보고, 이 세 요소의 구분을 통해서 사회자본의 다차원적. 역동적, 가변적 특성을 설하려 한다. 이 글은 사회자본의 다차원성, 역동성, 가변성 등을 이해하는 데 커뮤니케이션 양, 품질, 관계, 양식 등의 개념을 도입하는 것이 도움이 된다고 본다. 커뮤니케이션 품질이란 ‘상호성’, ‘합리성’, ‘공정성’, ‘표현성’, ‘예절’ 등 커뮤니케이션의 질적인 차원을 포괄적으로 지칭하는 개념이다. 우리는 커뮤니케이션 품질 개념을 활용해서 사회적 연결망의 특성과 신뢰의 형성 등에 대한 이해를 확대할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Finding the difficulties within which the concept of social capital is applied to account for different functions and effects of social relations, this study takes up three distinguished but interconnected components of social capital - sources, networks, and effects - and explores them separately to sort out the difficulties with the conceptualization. This study suggests the employment of the notion of quality of communication can contribute to the understanding of the complexity, dynamism, and changeability of social capital. In particular, it is suggested that qualities of communication such as rationality, fairness, and expressive decorativeness should account for the formation of different types of social networks and the processes by which social networks build social trust.
