As the world`s nations open up to one another and people from diverse cultures join in matrimony, the number of multi-cultural families will begin to increase. For the well-being of the 2ndgeneration of these multi-cultural families as well as the successful resettlement and self-sufficiency of the immigrant partner, more policies must be developed in regards to inter-racial marriage because multicultural families become increasingly socially vulnerable often times resulting in broken families as well as a lack in social integration. This paper aims to further investigate the challenges multicultural families face and aims to resolve the problem of multicultural family support policy in Korea. Multicultural family support policy in Korea is under developed because a governing body in regards to intercultural marriage is absent, while a strong emphasis is placed on assimilation, and there exists a lack in support and resources for multicultural families. Therefore, this paper suggests policy-making system be developed, services improved, and the purpose of multicultural family support policy be clarified through further analysis.
