한국교육사 연구에서의 신문화사의 의의 = The New Cultural Historical Approach in the Study of History of Korean Education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This thesis is to identify the importance of the new cultural historical approach in studying the history of Korean education. It was commenced not only to reflect on ourselves but to find out the exit, since the field of history of education has been in the crisis situation that the subject 'History of Education' was excluded from the required courses of teachers colleges recently.
Examining the bibliography of the history of Korean education, we can see that they have attached too much importance to studying system of education and thoughts of great educators in past. In short, there were no stories about students, especially their thoughts and actions. So people came to regard 'History of Education' as a boring and unimportant subject.
And now, we need to apply new approach to studying the history of Korean education, and the new cultural historical approach is the very solution since it orients the lives of people. The new cultural history has such spectrums as microhistory, Alltagsgeschichte, historical anthropology. Anyway, the new approach is expected to revive the realities of education in the past and we will know much more about past education than ever before. And then we will understand our present education and be able to improve the conditions of our education. In addition, the subject 'History of Education' will come to stand on a pedestal.
At the same time, we are to know the new cultural historical approach is cure-all for the crisis above mentioned. Nevertheless, it is no doubt that it is the only alternative for now.
