대학생이 지각한 사회적 지지가 진로탐색행동에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Perceived Social Support on Career Exploration Behaviors of College Students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to analyze what kinds of sources were affecting the career exploration behaviors and how meaningful the social-psychological characteristics were to the career exploration behaviors. Four variables(emotional, informational, material and self-esteeming support), which could play an important role for social supportive network by each individual, had been used. More specifically, the focus lied on how different the sustainable degree of social supports and career exploration behaviors perceived by college students were in accordance to sexes, grades, majors, social-economical status and regions. The research had been administered for the subjects of 1,111 students of 2 universities in Seoul and 2 universities in Kyungpook Province. The research had examined the affection of the social supports, which college students perceived, on the career exploration behaviors. The results showed that the more socially supported college students were, the more they made an effort in the career exploration behavior. Conclusively, in order to increase the career exploration behavior of college students, career counselor could support their psychological and social resources such as emotional, informational, material, and self-esteeming supports. Career counselor’s roles to increase the career exploration behavior such as supporting inner and outer problems and helping them to make a decision or to plan own future are very important.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

연구목적은 사회적 지지가 대학생의 진로탐색행동에 어떠한 영향을 주는 지를 살펴보는 데 있다. 특히 선행연구에서 이루어진 진로탐색행동과 관련이 있는 개인의 사회적 지지망에 대한 네 변인 즉, 정서적 지지, 정보적 지지, 물질적 지지, 자존감 지지를 통해 각 유형의 특성을 구체화 하여 개인의 심리 사회적 특성들이 어떠한 관계를 통해 진로탐색행동에 효과를 갖는 지, 구체적으로는 대학생이 지각한 사회적 지지 수준과 진로탐색행동이 성별, 학년별, 전공별, 사회 경제적 수준별 그리고 지역별에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는 지 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 규명하기 위하여 본 연구는 수도권에 위치한 2개의 대학과 수도권외 지역에 위치한 2개 대학의 대학생 1,111명을 대상으로 연구를 하였다. 본 연구의 변인들을 측정하기 위하여 사회적 지지검사와 진로탐색행동 검사를 사용하였다. 연구대상들의 특성을 파악하기 위해서 빈도, 평균 그리고 표준편차를 산출하였다. 성별, 학년별, 전공별, 지역별 그리고 사회 경제적 수준에 따라 사회적 지지와 진로탐색행동이 차이를 보이는 지를 알아보기 위하여 t검증과 변량분석을 하였다. 그리고 사회적 지지의 하위유형별로 진로탐색에 미치는 영향을 구체적으로 살펴 보기 위하여 선형회귀분석을 하였고, 변인들의 상호작용을 분석하기 위하여 Pearson의 상관계수를 산출하였다. 연구결과를 살펴 보면 첫째, 대학생이 지각한 사회적 지지의 하위영역별로 진로탐색행동에 성별, 전공별, 사회 경제적 수준별로 유의한 차이가 있음이 나타났다. 즉 대학생들이 지각한 사회적 지지가 잘 이루어진 대학생은 그렇지 않은 학생 보다 깊이 있는 진로탐색행동을 하는데 자유로움을 느끼며 진로선택을 더 잘 준비하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 대학생이 지각한 사회적 지지 중 특히 자존감 지지와 정서적 지지가 진로탐색행동과 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났으므로, 진로상담 시 진로탐색행동과 더불어 내담자들의 자존감 지지와 정서적 지지를 높여 주게 되면, 진로탐색행동이 더욱 구체적이고도 효과적으로 활성화 될 수 있다는 점에서 그 의의가 크다고 하겠다.
