대학생 학교생활 적응검사의 예언타당도 연구 = Predictive Validity of College Student Adjustment Questionnaire

국문 초록 (Abstract)

대학생의 학교생활 적응 정도는 그들의 학업, 사회적 대인관계, 신체 건강과 정신 건강 등 다양한 부분에 걸쳐서 파악된다. 어떤 학생은 다방면에 걸쳐서 고르게 성공적인 적응을 보이는 반면에 어떤 학생은 특정 부분에서 혹은 전반적으로 부적응을 경험한다. 본 연구는 서울대학교에서 개발, 사용하고 있는 “대학생활 적응도 테스트”의 예언타당도를 탐구하는 것이 주된 목적이다. 이 검사는 학업적응, 대인관계 적응, 심리적응, 건강적응, 위기 등 5개 영역으로 측정을 하는데, 각 영역별 점수와 총점이 산출된다. 예언의 준거로 사용된 자료는 대학상담소를 방문한 77명 내담자들의 상담신청서 상의 호소문제 강도 및 빈도, 접수 면접 기록에 대한 평정, 상담자의 내담자 평가 등이다. 분석 결과, 대학생활 적응도 테스트의 전반적인 점수는 세 가지 예언 준거 점수를 유의한 수준으로 예언해 줌을 알 수 있다. 분석 결과는 테스트의 컷오프 점수를 조정해야 할 필요성을 제기해 주고 있으며 새로운 컷오프 점수 산출을 위한 방안을 논의하였다. 또한, 이와 같은 간편 검사를 다른 대학들에서도 광범위하게 활용해야 할 필요성도 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to examine the predictive validity of “College Student Adjustment Questionnaire” which was developed and used by the Seoul National University Counseling Center. The test is composed of fifty-four items to measure five adjustment areas of college students: academic, interpersonal, mental health, physical health, and crisis. The tool is very short and can be completed within ten minutes. As the criterion index, three measures from three different point of view were applied: counseling client's complaints check list, counseling intake interview's global evaluation, and ratings for the intake interview records. Seventy-seven cases referred to the SNU counseling center were selected and analyzed in the study. The results indicated that the College Student Adjustment Questionnaire properly predict the severity of the counseling clients. However, about ten percents of the clients were not detected by the predicting questionnaire even if they were rated as “severe” or “highly risked” by the predicted indices. Accommodation of the cut-off scores was discussed as a way to improve the predictive validity of the questionnaire. Economic value of the College Students Adjustment Questionnaire was also discussed.
