학업우수여자고등학생의 직업결정과정에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Career Decision-making Process of Academically Talented High School Female Students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to improve the understanding of essential experiences of the career decision-making process of academically talented female students in Korean social-cultural contexts. The Strauss and Corbin's(1998) grounded theory was adopted to explore the process and structure of their experiences. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with twenty academically talented high school female students. A paradigm model was proposed. The core category in the experiences of the career decision-making process of female students was 'The autonomous finding of the way to eminent achievement'. And Participants went through six stages with time in their career decision-making process: the stage of awareness, the stage of exploration ,the stage of choice, the stage of compromise with parents, the stage of self-regulation and internal and acceptance, the stage of commitment and propulsion. The findings of this study suggested that academically talented female students need more early specific career guidance and counseling to assist their career development. Implications of the findings and suggestions for a policy issue, counseling issue, and future research are discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 학업우수 여자고등학생의 직업결정과정 경험을 한국의 사회·문화적 맥락에서 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 외국어 고등학교와 일반 고등학교 2학년에 재학 중인 학업우수 여자고등학생 20명을 심층면담하고 질적 연구 방법 중의 하나인 근거이론방법을 적용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 학업우수 여자고등학생의 직업결정과정에 관한 패러다임 모형이 도출되었으며 핵심범주는 ‘탁월한 성취를 향한 자율적 길 찾아가기’로 밝혀졌다. 이를 바탕으로 시간의 흐름에 따른 직업결정과정은 결정의 필요성 인식 단계, 탐색 단계, 선택 단계, 부모와 조율 단계, 내적 수용 단계, 그리고 결정 확신과 추진 단계의 6단계를 거치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 학업우수 여자고등학생의 직업 결정 과정 경험의 실체를 논의하였으며 직업결정 단계별 상담 개입 방안 및 상담 프로그램 개발에 대해 논의하고 나아가 후속 연구에 대한 제언을 하였다. 본 연구는 학업우수 여자 고등학생의 직업결정과정에서의 경험의 구조와 과정을 동시에 통합적으로 탐색하였으며 개인의 주관적인 직업결정과정에 관한 연구라는 점에 그 의의가 있다.
