통합심리학 연구의 세 가지 주요 흐름:역사적 맥락과 향후 과제 = Three Main Streams of Integral Psychology:Historical Context and Future Challenges

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 통합심리학이 발전해온 역사적 맥락을 세 가지 주요 연구 흐름을 중심으로 파악해보고, 아울러 통합심리학의 향후 과제들을 검토하였다. 현재 통합심리학의 큰 줄기인 Aurobindo, Wilber, Assagioli 심리학이 통합심리학과 자아초월심리학의 역사 속에서 어떻게 자리매김하고 있으며 그 주요 특징들은 무엇인지에 대해 개괄함으로써 이 세 가지 연구 흐름이 모두 동양 전통과 서양 심리학의 광범위한 성과들을 종합한 심리학의 형태로서, 자아초월심리학과 밀접한 연관성 속에서 발전해왔으며, 초의식 영역까지 포함하는 인간의 전체적인 발달모델을 제시한다는 공통점을 가지고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 반면, 포괄성, 정교함, 이론과 실제의 연결 등에서 개별적인 차이도 존재한다.
통합심리학이 한 걸음 더 도약하기 위해서는 먼저 자아초월심리학으로부터 물려받은 오랜 유산인 주류심리학과의 소통, 과학적 심리학으로의 도약 등의 과제를 해결해나가야 하며, 보다 확장된 통합심리학으로서의 자기정체성을 새로이 정립할 필요가 있다. 그 모습은 통합심리학의 주류 세력인 Wilber의 심리학을 중심으로 여타 통합심리학의 흐름들과 기존 심리학의 모든 부분 진리들을 포괄하는 새로운 체계가 되어야 한다. 그러기 위해서는 보다 개방적이고 수용적인 자세로 비판이나 대안을 적극적으로 받아들여야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to understand the historical context of integral psychology centered on three main streams through which it has kept evolving and examine its challenges to overcome. Summing up how the main lines of integral psychology(Aurobindo, Wilber, Assagioli's) have positioned themselves and what their key features are shows that they have all grown, in the close correlation with transpersonal psychology, as a form of psychology which integrated the expansive achievements of eastern tradition and western psychology. Futhermore, they are common in emphasizing the full spectrum model of human development. On the contrary, from the viewpoints of inclusiveness, exquisiteness, link between theory and practice, there exist individual differentiations.
To jump up, integral psychology must keep overcoming challenges, such as bridging with mainstream psychology, positioning as a scientific psychology which have been inherited from transpersonal psychology and need to establish its identity as a more comprehensive psychology. Its future outline should be a new integral system including all partial truths of other integral streams and existing psychologies, centered on Wilber's integral psychology. More open and receptive attitude should be assumed, accepting any criticism and alternative.
