메를로-퐁티의 살 존재론을 통한 배려교육의 이해

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 메를로-퐁티의 살 존재론과 가역성의 의미를 토대로 하여, 배려교육의 방향을 탐구해보는 것이었다. 메를로-퐁티의 살 존재론은 데카르트식의 존재론으로부터 벗어나 주체와 객체의 이분법을 넘어선다. 우리, 타자, 세계는 모두 살이라는 존재의 원소를 토대로 서로 연결되어 있으며, 자아와 타자는 서로 얽혀있다. 또한 살은 가역적이기 때문에 본다는 것은 보인다는 것이고 만지는 것은 만져진다는 것이다. 그리하여 봄과 보임, 만짐과 만져짐 사이의 교차가 일어나지만, 완전한 일치가 일어나는 것은 아니다. 이와 같은 메를로-퐁티의 살 존재론과 가역성을 통해서 배려의 의미를 이해하면, 배려하는 자와 배려를 받는 자, 배려함과 배려받음 역시 가역적인 관계로서 서로 얽혀있다. 또한 배려활동은 전경과 배경이 함께 얽혀있는 장이며, 이것 역시 가역적인 관계이다. 배려에서 자아와 타자의 관계를 연결짓기 위한 정서적 경험과 감정이입은 성격상 신체적이어야 하며, 배려교육은 관계성에 기반을 두어 배려하는 자와 배려를 받는 자를 하나의 살이 되도록 해야 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to examine the direction of the education of caring through the meanings of ontology of flesh and reversibility in Merleau-Ponty. The ontology of Merleau-Ponty is beyond the Cartesian ontology based on the dualism of subject and object. We, others, and world are each other related and intertwined by the element of being, flesh. Also seeing is being seen, touching is being touched by flesh as reversibility. Yet they are not the same. If we understand the meaning of caring through Merleau-Ponty's flesh, we know this.; the one-caring and the cared-for as well as caring and being cared are reversible. Foreground and background also are reversible. Merleau-Ponty's figure-background interactions provide a useful way of understanding activities of caring. Emotional experience and empathy in caring are corporeal in character. The education of caring is to form one flesh for one-caring and the cared-for based on relationship.
