지역대학에 유학 중인 중국인 학생들의 대학생활 만족도에 미치는 관련 변인 탐색 = Correlates of the Satisfaction of Chinese Students Studying in Korea

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 국내 한 지역대학에 유학 중인 중국인 유학생 190명을 대상으로 대학생활에서의 만족도에 미치는 여러 관련 변인들(성별, 자기조절학습전략, 부모의 정서적 지원, 한국인의 타문화에 대한 태도, 지각된 한국어 수준, 지각된 스트레스수준)과의 관계를 경로모형을 사용하여 살펴보았다. 분석결과, 유학생이 인식하는 한국인의 타문화에 대한 태도와 유학생의 자기조절학습전략이 대학생활 만족도와 통계정으로 유의한 관계가 있었다. 자기조절학습전략은 부모의 정서적 지원과 만족도를 매개하였고 한국인의 타문화에 대한 태도의 인지는 자기조절학습전략과 만족도를 정적으로 매개하였다. 통계적으로 유의미한 다중 상호작용효과가 있었다. 부모지원, 자기조절학습전략, 한국인의 타문화에 대한 태도의 인지는 만족도와 정적으로 관련이 있었다. 학생이 지각하는 한국어 수준은 한국인의 타문화에 대한 태도의 인지 및 만족도와는 부적관계가 있었다. 자기조절학습전략과 한국인의 타문화에 대한 태도의 인지는 만족도에 긍정적으로 영향을 미치므로 국내 대학에서는 유학생의 자기조절학습 역량강화와 내국인의 타문화에 대한 긍정적 태도에 관한 교육지원을 고려해 볼 만하다. 이는 유학생들의 대학생활 만족도를 제고함으로써 추후 유학생 유치에 도움이 될 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study explored various factors (i.e., gender, self-regulation strategies, parental emotional support, Koreans' attitudes toward other cultures, their perceived Korean language skills/competence, and their perceived stress level) that are assumed to be related to college students' satisfaction with life using path models. One hundred ninety Chinese students studying in a local Korean university were surveyed on their college life. The analysis of the results of that survey showed that parental support and self-regulation had statistically significant high correlations with college life satisfaction.
In addition, there were statistically significant four and three way interaction effects. The interaction effects of parental support, self-regulation, and Koreans' attitudes towards other cultures were positive. However, the interaction effect between students' perceived Korean language skill level and their evaluation of Koreans' attitudes toward other culture on satisfaction with life was negative. Self-regulation mediates the effects of Koreans' attitudes toward other cultures on college life satisfaction and it also mediates the effects of parental support on college life satisfaction. Since self-regulation and Koreans' attitudes toward other cultures were positively related to the students' satisfaction, by enhancing these factors via education, it is likely that the students' satisfaction with universities would be enhanced. Utilizing this information would benefit universities that want to recruit more Chinese students.
