유아음악교육 실제에 관한 문헌고찰을 통해 살펴본 교사교육의 방향 = Suggestions for Teacher Development Programs in Early Childhood Music Education: A Review of Previous Research Regarding Music Practices in Preschools and Kindergartens

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 유아음악교육기관에서의 음악교육 실태 조사에 관한 선행연구들을 정리ㆍ분석해 봄으로서 유아음악교육의 현장의 요구들을 바탕으로 유아음악교육을 위한 교사교육이 나아가야 할 방향을 모색해 보고 후속 연구를 위한 근거를 제시하고자 하였다. 선행연구를 정리해 본 결과 유아교육기관에서의 음악활동은 음악교사가 아닌 담임교사들에 의해 이루어졌고, 음악활동이 체계적인 교육목표 하에 이루어지지 않고 있으며 노래지도 중심으로 음악활동이 이루어지고 있었다. 교사들은 음악을 유아들에게 가르치는 데에 교수방법 및 교재의 부족에 대한 어려움이 있다고 보고하였다. 선행 연구들은 바람직한 교사교육을 위한 음악교육과정을 위해 보다 체계적인 유아교사 양성대학의 음악교육과정과 일정기간 이상의 음악관련 과목배치 및 유아음악교육 담당 전문가에 대한 요구들을 제안하였다.

The present study reviewed previous research regarding the current music practices in preschools and kindergartens in order to provide information for the development of teacher education programs and further research in early childhood music education. Many music educators indicated that early music experiences influenced children’s development in many areas and that all children had musical potential. The previous studies revealed that classroom teachers taught music in the majority of kindergartens. They had regular music time, but rarely carried out carefully planned music lessons. Based on the data collected about teachers’ difficulties, teachers needed music-related instructional methods and materials. Two suggestions for improvement were systematic early childhood music education courses for teacher education programs and an increase in the number of professional early childhood music educators.
