디지털 시대 글쓰기에 있어 ‘표현 도구’와 ‘매체특성’ 이해의 필요성 = 초등학교 어린이의 사진과 글에 대한 분석을 중심으로

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article deals with one of the most controversial issue of using media within the context of literacy education, particularly in relation to the changing notion of ‘writing’ in the digital age. In the contemporary South Korean society, it is reported that more than 65% households own digital cameras and more than 40% of the Internet users own and run their own personal blogs. In this environment, the traditional notion of writing has been increasingly challenged, not only in that writing may involve many different forms of expression beyond a written form but also in that online writing may involve ‘publishing’ the result of writing rather than writing in itself. Considering there changes, this article discusses how literacy education might need to approach to using digital equipments, such as digital cameras, as tools for multimodal expression and to using media, such as a class yearbook, as channels for communication or ‘publishing’ texts. The discussion includes some of the data produced in the research of children’s use of photographs for writing and production of a class yearbook as their own media.
