유아교사의 행복, 강점, 직무만족의 관련성 탐색 연구 = An analysis of the relationships among happiness index, character strengths, and job satisfaction of preschool educators

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigated the relationships among happiness index, character strengths, and job satisfaction of preschool educators in order to explore the quality of educators' professional and personal lives. The subject of the study were 207 preschool educators. The results of this study were as follows: first, the happiness index had the positive relationships with the use of character strengths and job satisfaction in general. As well, the five subcategories of the happiness scale, the six subcategories of the job satisfaction and the character strength have positive relationships except for the relationships between scores for the areas of salary and promotion in educators' job satisfaction and the areas of justice and self control scores in character strengths. In Sum, these findings prove that the happier the preschool educators are, the more professionally and personally satisfied they are and the more they tend to use the character strengths.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 유아교육현장의 질과 밀접한 관련이 있는 유아 교사의 행복, 강점활용, 직무만족의 관련성을 탐색하는 데 있다. 연구의 목적을 위해 유아교육 현장의 교사 207명을 대상으로 전반적인 삶과 교사로서의 생활에 대한 만족 정도, 행복과 밀접한 관련이 있는 강점 활용 정도, 교직만족도에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과 교사의 전반적인 행복 정도는 교사의 강점 활용, 교직에 대한 만족 정도와 정적 관계가 있었다. 즉, 행복한 유아교사는 자신의 강점을 다양하게 적극적으로 활용하였으며 교사로서의 직무만족에 대한 만족 정도 또한 전반적으로 높았다. 교사의 행복, 강점, 교직만족의 하위영역간의 관계 분석에서는 대부분 하위영역들 간의 정적인 관계가 유의미한 것으로 나타났으나 보수와 근무환경에 대한 만족 정도, 교사의 절제력과 정의감 등이 다른 하위영역들과 관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 유아교사의 행복 정도가 강점의 활용정도와 직무만족과 관련이 있다는 긍정심리학자들의 주장을 지지하며 최근의 행복에 관한 과학적인 접근 연구들에 의미 있는 시사점을 제공할 수 있다.
