고전문학 : 스토리텔링의 개념 = The research on the conception of storytelling

This study is focused on re-conception of storytelling for understanding of contemporary situation that the story is producing for commercial profit. The definition of storytelling is the term which has been used extempore in the processing of commercialization of stories, not the definition which is defined for studies in the scholar society. Many scholars defined the Storytelling as various perspectives, yet many collisions of logic have been occurred with the narrative as traditional perspective. For the solution of this problem, start point of this study is the consideration of various formats of stories. Second phase is to figure out of various terms of the narratology. The last phase is to redefine of the storytelling and show the core elements of it. This study defined the storytelling as an aggregate of verbal things with the power of transmission and narrative. Just in case, the verbal things contain the new media expressing stories. This definition, however, is general, because this study is accessing to storytelling of a general idea or a principal that includes both inside and out of the stories. But it is possible for us to discuss consistently about yesterday and today of the story culture, because the general idea and principal of the storytelling is consistent to posses the stories. The elements that the new definition of storytelling need are story, narrating, and champ. The champ is the spaces to tell stories are Sarang-Bang in past time and theaters in contemporary time. The story is the folktales and movies. And also the narrating is the meeting for grand father and grand son and visiting theater for spectators. The features of the individual elements are different, but the principal that storytelling needs story, narrating, and champ, is not changed. If this discussion is extended, and we consider all kinds of stories, we could access to story culture as a historical perspective. And also we can expect the development of the new theory about the stories This study could not consider all kinds of stories as the micro perspective, because this study is focused on the definition of the storytelling. It is the assignment for later study to revise with delicacy.
