      This study examines which businesses are most likely to implement family-friendly policies in Korea. Survey data were collected from HR managers of 1,084 companies(more than 10 employees) in both of public and private sectors. Frequency analyses of the responses of HR managers showed that low levels of implementation of family-friendly corporate policies in Korea. This study also found that public sector, finance and insurance stand out as industries most likely to offer family-friendly policies, wholesale and retail are the least likely to offer policies. Finally serial hierarchical regression analyses revealed that characteristics of the firms such as industry type, location of company, firm size, presence of union, financial performance, proportions of non-regular employees, part-time employees, female employees, the proportion of top executive positions filled by women, the intentions of obeying the revised Equal Employment Opportunity Law, and expectancy of the positive effects of family-friendly policies significantly predicted presence of family-friendly corporate policies in Korea. The implications of study results are discussed.
