태권도 세계화와 발전방안에 관한 연구 = The Study of Globalization of Taekwondo and Ways to Develop

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Is Tae-kwon-do a fighting game or not? This was the issue on Taekwondo at the beginning. Continuous issues such as, material arts was not a fighting game from the beginning because then we are letting out the leveling and arbitrary part of the game. Although it went through this hard issues, now days Tae-kwon-do is creating its culture as a sport. The "Taekwondo" is a typical Korean "Mudo" and well-known for worldwide even though it has only been developed for 30 years. It is selected as an official Olympic game and it is in the spotlight of the world sport. The "Taekwondo" has been globalized a part of the "Mudo" sports and it has 40 millions trainers in the world which is considerably a huge amount of group of people. However, even though there are many supporters, it has some problems. It has lack of scientific and systematic structures and in addition, the absence of chivalry brings the "Taekwondo" another difficulty to be defined. The research will adjust the background of the "Taekwondo" birth, an official name, and developing it into the worldwide sport. This will give a chance to look back to a variety of controversial criticisms about "Taekwondo". Tournament rules and regulations : reinforce gradational point system, tournament rules and regulations to promote active competition and judging decision, and wearing color uniform need to be considered. The suggestions for functions of TKD related organizations : absence of TKD research center is the cause of lack of considerate research for each TKD division. Operating active TKD research center run by full-time researchers who can apply scientific principles systematically into each TKD division could help effective problem solving and decision making in general.
