다문화교육의 현황과 다문화교육 접근방향 탐색 = A Study on the Approaches to Multicultural Education and the Tasks of the Korean Multicultural Education

국문 초록 (Abstract)

우리나라도 다문화사회에 진입하고 있다는 논의들이 증가하고 있다. 실제로, 2020년에는 이주여성농업인이 평균 2명의 자녀를 출산할 경우 19세미만 농가인구의 49%가 다문화자녀로 구성될 것이라고 전망하기도 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 우리나라 다문화가정 및 다문화교육현황을 토대로 다문화교육 접근방향을 논의해 보고자 하는 것이다. 다문화교육의 접근방법은 먼저 교육의 목표를 어떻게 설정할 것인가에서 출발한다. 이러한 목표달성을 위하여 다문화이해를 통한 교육내용으로서의 지식을 어떻게 구성할 것인가를 모색해야 한다. 이렇게 선정된 교육내용은 편견 없는 효율적인 교수-학습지도과정이 필요하다. 특히, 학생들의 전반적인 학교생활과 교수-학습지도는 다문화사회의 다양성이 상호 존중되는 학교풍토가 조성될 때 그 효과는 배가 될 것이다. 또한 다문화교육을 효율적으로 하기 위해서는 예비교사의 교육과 교사연수 등을 체계적으로 실시하여야 한다. 즉, 다문화사회에서의 다문화교육은 교육목표, 교육과정, 교과서정책, 교수-학습, 상담 및 학급경영방법 등에 대한 체계적인 연구가 뒤따라야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is to examine the multicultural education in the multicultural society. Multicultural education is a broad term that includes a wide range of goals and practices in education. Therefore, there is a confusion about multicultural education. This study makes clear the concept and goals of multicultural education, and inquires a various of approaches to multicultural education.
The concrete aims of this study are as follows.
First, what is a multicultural education?
Second, how is the present condition of multicultural education in Korea.
Third, how to approach about multicultural education?
Finally, what is the suggestions of multicultural education?
Teachers have a great influence on school life of students. Especially teachers play a very important role in the equal opportunity of education, educational experiences and school achievement of students in the school. Therefore teachers must consider students from diverse racial, ethnic, cultural and social class groups.
Approaches to multicultural education seeks to reform the process of schooling in the diverse perspectives. The knowledge construction, curriculum and textbook policies, teaching and learning, and empowering school culture and social structure of education should be examined, revised and supplemented to reflect the characteristics of multicultural society. And the cooperative system between school and community should be established to support multicultural family.
