지역사회 사회자본에 미치는 동네효과에 관한 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 일정한 동네에 빈곤층이 모여 사는 사회경제적 환경이 사회자본형성에 미치는 동네효과를 경험적으로 파악해보는 것이다. 사회자본은 지역사회 심리학적 관점에서 지역공동체의식, 이웃과의 유대, 집합적 효능감, 그리고 지역사회주민조직 참여의 네 가지 차원으로 나누어 접근하였다. 실증분석을 위해서는 대전광역시에 위치한 52개 동네를 선정하고, 주민 3,204명의 설문응답 결과에 위계적 선형모형을 적용하였다. 분석결과는 지역공동체의식과 관련하여 개인수준의 변수를 통제한 이후에도 국민기초생활 수급자 가구 비율에 기초한 동네의 사회경제적 지위가 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나, 동네효과가 존재함을 보여주고 있다. 개인수준의 설명변수로서는 성별, 연령, 그리고 주택소유여부 및 주거기간이 비교적 일관성 있게 사회자본에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론으로 실증분석결과의 시사점 및 앞으로의 연구방향을 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to identify a neighborhood effect on social capital caused by spatial concentration of poor populations. For this purpose, it classifies the social capital into fourcategories from a community psychology perspective: the sense of community, neighboring, collective efficacy and community organization participation. For an empirical study, a hierarchical linear model was applied to the final 3,204 questionnaire survey data collected in 52 neighborhoods of Daejeon Metropolitan City.
The results identify a neighborhood effect only in terms of sense of community. It does this by showing that neighborhood socioeconomic status measured by rate of minimum living expensesrecipient families remain statistically significant in terms of the sense of community, even after statistically controlling individual-level variables. Individual-level variables, gender, age, home ownership and residential length of stay, appear to haverelatively consistent influence on social capital. The conclusion provides some research implications and future research direction.
