As of 2000, the elderly people aged 65 or older accounted for more than 7% of the entire population, signaling an era of an aged society. By 2019, they are expected to account for 14% of the population, enough to announce Korea as an aged society. In particular, those in their 50`s who have much wealth and high educational backgrounds owing to nation`s high-speed economic growth since 1970`s, will emerge as airline customers to be reckoned with by the time they join the elderly generation. With such background, this study was aimed at identifying the factors considered by the elder generation when selecting their traveling airline and how each factors affect on their future selection of choosing the airline again. The study was focused on recognizing the elder generation as users with effective demand and finding the need of customized service for this generation. This study is thus, expected to provide assistance when working out strategies with intention to attract the elder generation by providing distinctive service.
