개별화된 리더쉽: 교수-학생의 교환관계에 관한 연구 = Individualized leadership: A study on professor-student exchange relationships in Korean universities

국문 초록 (Abstract)

  본 연구는 교수와 학생간 교환관계에 대해 두 가지 측면에서 예측이 이루어졌다. 첫째, 변수들간의 관계측면에서는 교수의 학생에 대한 관심과 배려가 학생의 교수에 대한 존경, 학업성취도, 그리고 학교생활의 만족에 영향을 미치는 것으로 가설을 설정하였으며, 둘째 분석수준 측면에서는 교수와 학생간 교환관계가 집단수준이 아닌 짝수준, 즉 1대 1관계로 성립할 것이라는 가설을 설정하였다. 교수와 학생들로부터 수집한 자료를 분석한 결과에 따르면 교수의 학생에 대한 관심과 배려에 대해 학생들은 정확하게 지각하고 있었으며, 학생 자신이 어느 정도 관심과 배려를 받았느냐가 교수에 대한 존경, 학점, 학교생활의 만족에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이러한 교수와 학생간 교환관계는 교수와 학생간 1대 1로 나타나는 것으로 밝혀져 본 연구에서 설정된 가설이 뒷받침되었다. 이러한 결과는 교수가 일정한 스타일에 기초하여 지도하는 전체 학생들을 대상으로 관심과 배려를 보이는 것이 아니며, 또한 일부 편애하는 학생들에 대해 관심과 배려를 보이는 것도 아니라는 것을 의미한다. 토론부분에서는 이러한 결과를 실제 교수-학생간 교환관계에 적용시킴에 있어서 시사하는 바와 본 연구가 가지는 한계 등에 대한 논의가 이루어졌다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

  This study predicts the exchange relationship between professors and students in two perspectives: First, from the variable relationship perspective, a professor"s attention and consideration on a student is hypothesized to positively relate to the student"s respect on the professor, school acievement, and satisfaction with school life. Second, from the level of analysis perspective, the exchange between professor and student is hypothesized to hold at the dyad (professor and student) level rather than at the group level. The data from professors and students shows that a student exactly perceived a professor"s attention and consideration on the student and that the student"s respect on the professor, school acievement, and satisfaction with school life are influenced by the degree of attention and consideration received by the student. The data also shows that the exchange between professors and students held at the dyad level. These results indicates that a professor behaves toward a student depending on how he or she behaves toward the professor. Implications as well as future research directions are addressed.
